Running your first audit takes less than a minute. Paste in any draft you are working on — a debate case, speech, essay, or position paper — and the Fracture Engine returns a full structured report you can act on immediately. Follow the steps below to go from a blank Studio to a complete analysis.
A Fracture account is free and only required to save your past work. You can run an audit without signing in.

Run Your First Audit

1

Open the Studio

Go to the Studio. The Studio is where you paste your draft, choose your settings, and read the report. No installation required.
2

Paste Your Draft

Paste your writing into the input field. The Studio accepts up to 40,000 characters, which covers most debate cases, full speeches, research papers, and college essays. Paste the version you want analyzed — the more complete the draft, the more specific the feedback.
3

Choose a Mode

Select the mode that matches the type of writing you are submitting:
  • Argument / Debate — for debate cases, policy briefs, persuasive claims, and position papers. Grades claim-warrant-evidence-impact structure and how the argument holds under direct pressure.
  • Speech / Presentation — for pieces meant to be heard. Focuses on how clearly the argument lands for an audience, including hook, pacing, signposting, and memorable lines.
  • Essay / General Writing — for academic and analytical writing. Covers thesis clarity, paragraph structure, transitions, tone, and evidence integration.
  • Rubric Grading — paste in a rubric alongside your draft and Fracture grades criterion by criterion, estimates likely scores, and tells you what would move each category up.
4

Choose a Depth Level

Select how deeply you want the engine to read your draft:
  • Surface — a fast pass focused on the two or three things that matter most. Good for a quick check before submission.
  • Medium — the default. A full audit with claim analysis, assumption audit, counterarguments, source check, and a complete revision path.
  • Extreme — the deepest read. Eight or more priority fixes, a full dependency graph showing how claims connect, an expanded attack tree, and additional argument angles to research.
5

Run the Audit

Click the run button. The report streams in as it builds — you do not need to wait for the full analysis before you start reading. The engine identifies what you are actually trying to argue and tells you where it holds up and where it falls apart.
6

Work Through the Report

Use each section of the report to guide your revision:
  • Priority fixes — start here. Each fix is ranked by how much it improves the piece, so you always know what to change first.
  • Source panel — review which factual claims have public web support and which still need a citation. Open every linked source and confirm the exact passage before using it.
  • Fracture Chat — ask follow-up questions about any finding, request a rewrite of a specific sentence, or explore how to counter an objection the engine raised.
Start at Medium depth for your first pass. After you revise, re-run the audit and compare the scores to track how much the argument has improved.

After the Audit

Save to Past Work

Sign in with a free account to save any audit and return to it later. All your previous reports are available on the Past Work page.

Export as PDF

Export your full report as a PDF to share with a teacher, coach, or study partner, or to keep as a reference during revision.

Use Fracture Chat

Ask follow-up questions directly inside the report. Drill into any finding, request replacement sentences, or explore how a specific claim could be strengthened.

Use the Rebuttal Builder

Turn your own draft into opponent preparation. The rebuttal builder generates the strongest counterarguments and crossfire questions your writing would face.
