Argument mode is the default analysis mode in Fracture Studio. Use it whenever your goal is to prove a statement with logic — Fracture reads your draft, maps how your claims depend on one another, identifies hidden assumptions a reader might reject, and tells you exactly where a skilled opponent would break your case.

When to Use Argument Mode

  • Competitive debate cases (policy, LD, parliamentary, public forum)
  • Policy briefs and position papers
  • Persuasive claims and op-eds
  • Opinion writing
  • Model UN position papers and resolutions

How to Run It

1

Choose Argument Mode

In the Studio, set the draft type to Argument.
2

Pick a Depth

Choose Surface for a fast pre-submission check, Medium for a full audit with source verification, or Extreme for the deepest read — eight or more priority fixes, a full dependency graph, and an expanded attack tree.
3

Paste and Run

Paste your case into the draft field and run Fracture. The report streams in as it is built.

What the Report Grades

Fracture evaluates seven distinct dimensions of your argument and surfaces the ones most likely to cost you under live pressure. Each section of the report targets a different layer of your case.
Fracture checks whether each claim is supported, whether the warrant connects evidence to your thesis, and whether your impacts actually follow from the logic you have laid out.
The report identifies exactly what your argument must prove for its conclusion to survive, so you know the minimum threshold you have to clear.
The single load-bearing claim, definition, or causal link that most endangers your argument if defeated. If an opponent cracks this one point, the rest of the case loses force.
A visual and textual map of how your claims, warrants, and impacts depend on one another — available at Medium and Extreme depth.
The strongest distinct ways a skilled opponent could break your reasoning, ranked by risk score, with suggested responses and crossfire questions for each.
Hidden premises your argument relies on that a reader or judge might reject — each flagged with a criticality score so you know which ones to address first.
A ranked list of revisions ordered by how much each one improves the overall argument — so you spend your prep time where it matters most.

After the Audit

After the audit, open the rebuttal builder to turn your own case into opponent preparation, or ask Fracture Chat about any specific pressure point in the report. Both tools are available directly from the Studio after a run.
